Intershirt

History

Some time after the Second World War, in 1955 to be precise, Demalux was founded by an enterprising Theodoor De Mezel. With as its main activity the manufacture of men’s and children’s shirts, men’s pyjamas and ladies’ blouses, he was able to develop Demalux to become a blossoming clothing manufacturing concern. In 1976 the one-man business was converted into a company, and it was also decided to exclusively concentrate on the production of men’s shirts. In 1998 the company name was changed to Intershirt.

Philosophy

Quality has always been of paramount importance, a policy that has indeed borne fruit. A few decades ago Belgian had a highly flourishing clothing manufacturing industry, but only the cream of these companies survived. The current products are therefore a result of years of experience, know-how and research. By selecting carefully from the most highly reputed weavers both in Belgium and abroad, Intershirt only uses the very best fabrics. Patterns are constantly updated and a perfect fit is the priority for the design team.

Collections

The collections are divided up among different brand names, which are each aimed at a certain clientele. Besides the seasonal collections, Intershirt offers a wide range of basic stock products which are immediately available. Administrations or large enterprises who want to provide their staff with a personalised model can expect a suitable offer from Intershirt. Production under "private label" is also among the possibilities.

For who?

Our clientele consists on the one hand of retailers and specialised menswear outlets, and on the other hand large distribution chains at home and abroad. Administrations and companies also account for a significant part of our clientele.
